We’re Ocado Retail, a market-leading joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S, and the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket, ocado.com. Not only is Ocado the only place to shop a full range of M&S food online, it’s also the home to the widest online supermarket range in the UK and champion of small, independent brands. We’re also the brains behind Zoom by Ocado, our same-day grocery delivery service.
About the team and the role
Ocado Retail is looking for a Junior Digital Artworker to join our in-house creative studio, EAT Creative. Following the recent launch of our refreshed brand identity, you will help create engaging visual content that brings our brand to life across digital channels.
In this role, you will work and report to the Senior Digital Designer to build assets for major campaigns, seasonal promotions, and everyday digital content across e-commerce, email (CRM), and paid social media. This is a great opportunity to work for a big British brand and to really push yourself within a busy in-house studio.
What you’ll do
Digital Campaign Support: Assist in producing visual assets for multi-channel digital campaigns across paid social, e-commerce, and email.
Everyday Production: Turn around quick-brief assets efficiently, focusing primarily on banner creation for digital channels
Design Systems: Learn and apply our brand guidelines using Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud to ensure visual consistency.
Team Collaboration: Support the Senior designer and other team members with design production, take constructive feedback, and submit day-to-day work for review and sign-off.
Workflow & Housekeeping: Partner with the operations team to keep track of your assigned tasks, manage deadlines, and update project files.
Who you are
Software Proficiency: A decent level of proficiency in Figma, Figma Buzz, Adobe CC, Claude, plus other AI design software.
Production powerhouse: You're fast and can support digital campaigns from start to finish, with a solid understanding of layout, typography, and digital design principles.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your artwork and digital design skills.
Communication and Presentation Skills: Keen to learn the art of presenting and to maintain effective communication.
Brand Awareness: A strong understanding of brand guidelines and the ability to apply them consistently.
Agency/In-house Experience: Previous experience working in a busy agency or in-house studio environment is preferable.
Organisational Skills: Organised, resilient, self-motivated, and dependable, with good time management skills.
Problem-Solving Skills: Happy to propose alternative solutions to everyday design production problems.
Team player: Ability to work effectively within a team, solo, and somewhere in between.
What’s in it for you
By joining Ocado Retail, you’ll have the chance to experience life at the world’s largest online retailer, work with an amazing bunch of people who challenge what’s possible each day, and grow your skills and career in online retail. You'll also be part of our AI Academy, a dedicated learning journey designed to empower every colleague with the smart technology skills of the future.
If that’s not enough to tempt you, you’ll also get access to loads of great benefits to sweeten the deal. Here’s a taste of what we offer:
Health & Wellbeing: Private medical insurance with option to add your family, Digital GP appointments, market-leading family policies, mental health support, discounted gym memberships, dental insurance, and more.
